An entertaining megahit directed by Jithu Madhavan, Aavesham is a thriller comedy set in the city of Bangalore.
STORYLINE:
The tale kicks off with three Malayalees (Aju, Bibi, and Shanthan) attempting to navigate their way as newbies in an engineering college in Bangalore. However, their attempt to fit in goes down the drain when they get themselves in big trouble after provoking their seniors. Driven by revenge, they seek a local tough guy to give their bullies a taste of their own medicine. this is where our protagonist Ranga makes his grand entrance.
While the first half of the movie shines the spotlight on our mystery man Ranga, his past retold in an over-exaggerated yet amusing narrative by Ambaan (Ranga’s right-hand guy) and his goons to the trio who find all the stories just too good to be true. Their alliance with the gang is driven by their vengeance against their troublesome seniors, but they also find themselves entangled in the underworld lifestyle.
As the movie progresses into the second half, the pace may be seen slowing down. The once stable narrative takes an unexpected turn, momentarily losing its momentum before losing its grip on the audience’s attention towards the end. Despite this lull, the gradual buildup ultimately leads to a more captivating climax, leaving the audience eagerly waiting for the showdown they have all been waiting for.
MOVIE HIGHLIGHTS:
An undeniable highlight is Fahad Fazil’s portrayal of Ranga as an unpredictable, confident, rowdy gangster with a blend of Bangalorian and Mallayali slang. Draped in striking white and adorned with gold ornaments, Ranga gives a charismatic aura and power that sets him apart, he’s a man of his word and it becomes evident throughout the movie that he isn't someone to be messed with. The delivery of his signature line ‘eda mwone' becomes an instant favorite to audiences. Fahad's mastery of conveying emotions through his eyes adds another layer of depth to Ranga's character
The movie introduces us to new faces with Aju played by Hipzter, Bibi by Mithun Jai Shankar and Shanthan by Roshan Shanavas. Each character regardless of their prominence in the storyline leaves a significant impact, contributing to the overall depth of the story.
A huge shoutout goes to Sushin Shyam for his legendary compositions. His songs are not just part of the background, they truly capture the spirit of the film. With its catchy beats, they effortlessly draw in the audience and keep them engaged from the beginning to the end.
In summary, Aavesham brings out an unforgettable cinematic experience with its diverse casting and vibrant music that sweeps its audience off their feet.
